Fatigue is the weakening of a material caused by repeatedly applied loads. Interface Fatigue-Rated Load Cells are designed for an operational life of more than 100 million fully reversed, full-capacity loading cycles. This applies to both the flexure (spring) and the strain gages (sensor).
Manufacturers of test machines, air and spacecraft, vehicles, consumer products, robotics, and industrial equipment use our fatigue-rated load cells. Engineers and manufacturers rely on these special load cells when passing fatigue testing protocols is critical to the success of an assembly, piece of equipment, or product. TIP: Use our product selection guides to find the models and capacities that fit your fatigue testing requirements.
EXTRA! Join our live Mastering Fatigue Testing with Force Measurement Webinar tomorrow, February 27. We’ll cover this topic in greater detail. If you confirm your attendance, we will also provide a recording for your future reference. Register here.
FATIGUE-RATED SPECIFICATION
Fatigue-rated is a specification of load cell design and construction used for repetitive cycle and fatigue testing. Extraneous load sensitivity is specified and adjusted to a lower level than in a standard Interface LowProfile load cell. They have a mechanical deflection of about one-half of a standard load cell, which causes the output to be about one-half of a standard load cell that is not fatigue-rated.
Additional sensor models are available for fatigue-rated options. Request a quote from our application engineers.

LOAD PINS ARE DESIGNED FOR EASY INTEGRATION
A load pin measures the force applied through strain gages typically housed within a small bore at its center. Interface load pins are made from durable stainless steel and designed to withstand harsh environments. Welded or O-ring-sealed end caps and careful attention to the signal cable gland ensure high operational reliability, even in underwater applications and
maritime use cases.
Interface offers several instrumentation solutions for analog conversion, including output modules, signal conditioners, indicators, and data acquisition systems. Analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are crucial in advanced force measurement systems. These devices link the analog output of force transducers to digital inputs for data acquisition and analysis. Key performance parameters determine ADC suitability for specific force measurement applications. It’s essential to review the specifications of each instrument to ensure it meets your requirements for analog-to-digital conversion. What should you look for in your specifications? INTERFACE TECHTALK ANSWERS: WHAT IS LOAD CELL CONDITIONING?
Load cell conditioning takes the raw signal from a load cell and converts it into a format suitable for further processing or display. The raw signal from a load cell is typically in the millivolt range. Conditioning is essential for amplifying, filtering, and transforming the raw signal from a load cell. Load cell signal conditioners can enhance the signal-to-noise ratio, change the output into a preferred high-level signal type, and improve the electrical resolution for a given situation measurement. HYDROFOIL TESTING ADVANCES SPEED AND FUEL EFFICIENCY
Hydrofoil technology advances maritime applications of watercraft by enhancing speed, efficiency, and maneuverability across various vessels. Hydrofoils generate lift and reduce drag, allowing boats, ships, and seaborne vehicles to achieve higher speeds with less fuel consumption. The design of an effective hydrofoil requires a delicate balance. Engineers must optimize the shape to generate sufficient lift without introducing excessive complexity. Hydrofoil tank testing is vital for developing and refining these wing-like structures. Tank
testing provides invaluable data for enhancing hydrofoil performance by simulating real-world conditions in a controlled environment. Read more.
