One fact that may oversimplify use cases for sensors today is, ‘things that didn’t use to have sensors now do’. Consumer products, machines, components, and tools now require real-time user data and feedback in both test and actual market use. To make smart decisions, they need accurate information from quality sensors. Read more in our resent post, Interface Sensors Used for Internet of Things.
This valuable sensory data is constantly measuring applied forces, which is helping innovators and engineers in designing new products and updating older models. It’s being used for all types of smart devices, industrial automation robots, medical equipment, and even wireless mobile testing labs.
To capture some of growing demands for Interface miniaturized and wireless sensors, we’ve recently launched a new solutions area on our website, Internet of Things.

HOW TO SELECT THE PRECISE TORQUE TRANSDUCER FOR YOUR TESTING PLAN
Interface offers an extensive line of torque transducer models in different designs and capacities to fit all types of torque measurement testing requirements. Evaluating torque transducer options come down to some basic criteria: type, style, model, mounting requirements, capacity, and special features.
Do you need a reaction or rotary type transducer? Is shaft or flange style best suited for your requirements? How much torque do you need to measure? In our recent post, Choosing the Right Torque Transducer, we highlight some of the criteria that is helpful in getting started in selecting the right device. We also recently published our Torque Measurement Primer as a quick reference to use in your selection process.
If you have particular interest in the Interface AxialTQ Torque Transducer, you won’t want to miss out on reading our new comparative test results. Engineer Jay Bradley details the tests and results. Read our latest technical white paper, A Comparison of Torque Measurement Systems.
MAKING LOAD CELLS USB COMPATIBLE
The USB Interface Module products are popular digital instrumentation solutions. The benefits of USB Interface modules are that they make load cells USB compatible. This module provides the ability to collect, send, and view data from a transducer via a connected computer. Each USB module comes with software. It features full
synchronization of all measuring channels and has many input ranges and sensor type options. It is used for mV/V, strain gage and high-level inputs. They are easy to use and have a simple GUI for collecting data for immediate evaluation and gathering for later research. These modules are suitable for convenient testing and monitoring applications.
If you weren’t able to attend our recent webinar, Advancements in Instrumentation, we recorded the live event for you to watch at your convenience. The conversation with Keith Skidmore and Ken Bishop highlights new instrumentation, digital applications, and helpful tips. They also provide insights on pairing sensors with the right instrumentation, for single tests and complex use cases.
Read the recap about the event and learn about the topics covered, including Types of Advanced Instrumentation, Selection Criteria, Digital Versus Analog Options, What’s New in Wireless + Bluetooth Telemetry Systems, New Instrumentation and FAQs.
