Load washer load cells are a versatile product used throughout a wide range of industries and applications. Interface Load Cell Load Washers, also known as thru-hole load cells, have a hole passing through the center.
These force measurement donut-styled components are frequently used to measure and monitor clamping forces, fastening control, bolt loading, and other compressive loads. The primary advantages of load cell load washers make them a popular choice where space is limited, accuracy is critical, durability is important, and reliability is essential.
CLOSER LOOK AT INTERFACE LOAD WASHERS
Interface offers precision, high-capacity, and environmentally safe load cell load washers in eight models. Our load washers vary in design, size, and force measuring ranges from 5 lbf to 1,124K lbf (.02kN to 5,000kN).
LWCF Clamping Force Load Cell has a capacity range of 3.37K to 337.2K lbf and is ideal for determining bolt preloads and use in clamping tests.
LWHP14 Precision Load Washer Load Cell typical uses include monitoring the force required to press two parts together with standard capacities of 11.2 to 22.5K lbf.
LWPF1 Press Force Load Washer Load Cell features an extra-large thru-hole and short overall height in capacities 450 to 22.5K lbf, ideal for press force measurement.
Load cell load washers offer several advantages because of the compact size which allows them to be easily integrated into tight spaces. Load cell load washers are designed for easy installation.
Our high-accuracy load cell load washers are durable and long-lasting, with a robust construction that can withstand harsh environmental conditions and repeated use. They require minimal maintenance and are highly versatile for all types of use cases. Interface Load Cell Load Washers can be easily designed into products to continuously measure and monitor compression forces.

Interface experts Jeff Boyd and Elliot Speidell will go in-depth on what types of measurement devices are commonplace in labs, frames and test stands, standards, and new types of instrumentation. What equipment is best for any modern lab setting? We’ll give our perspective, and share best practices and tips, as well as answer frequently asked questions. Let’s talk test and measurement essentials for the lab! Register today.
INNOVATIVE LOAD PIN APPLICATIONS
Interface load pins are strain gage sensors that measure the force applied across the device. Load pins are powerful sensors that provide data collection for accurate and frequent measurement. The load pin can replace a bolt, clevis, sheave, and an equalizer pin, as well as other load-bearing components to measure tension and compression forces.
Machined from high tensile stainless steel, Interface load pins are suitable for exposed situations including seawater. We offer standard sizes of load pins between 1.1K lbf to 3.3M lbf (500kgs to 1500 MT). We also have wireless load pins. Interface load pins are custom manufactured to meet specific dimensional requirements for each application.
Interface load pins are used in a wide variety of projects across industries, from aerospace to infrastructure projects, as noted in these applications.
INTERFACE DELVES INTO ADVANCED ROBOTICS AND COBOTS
Interface explores Advancements in Robotics and Cobots Using Interface Sensors in our latest case study. Collaborative robots, called cobots, are designed to work alongside humans in a shared workspace. They are typically equipped with sensors technologies that allow them to detect the presence of humans and react accordingly. This can include slowing down, stopping, or changing direction to avoid collisions or other safety hazards. Cobots are often used in tasks that are repetitive, dangerous, or require a high level of precision, such as assembly, packaging, or inspection. Read more about in our post, Collaborative Robots Using Interface Sensors.
We also detail how multi-axis sensors provide several benefits for use in robotics, as they allow for accurately measuring the robot’s position, orientation, and movement. Interface 2-axis, 3-axis, 6-axis, and axial torsion load cell sensors meet the expectations for robotics design and testing, as more data is needed to thoroughly measure every capability and interaction with accuracy.
